Functions and application of the Audi rear view mirror

The presented mirror belongs to the Rear view mirrors category and is intended for installation in the rear area of the cabin, replacing the factory-fitted interior mirror. The automatic dimming feature reduces glare from vehicles behind, which increases image clarity and improves safety during night driving. The integrated camera works with the vehicle's onboard systems (e.g., assistants or image recording – depending on the car's configuration), providing additional visual data for the car's electronics. This type of solution is particularly valued in high-end models, such as the Audi A6 and S6 of the C7 generation, where stylistic consistency, comfort, and advanced driver assistance functions are expected.

Benefits of using automatic dimming and a camera

Using a mirror with automatic dimming and a camera provides a number of practical benefits:

• reduction of glare from the lights of vehicles behind,
• a stable, clear image in the mirror under varying lighting conditions,
• cooperation with driver assistance systems that use the signal from the camera,
• maintaining the factory look of the vehicle interior thanks to the matched beige color,
• the ability to restore full functionality of the original equipment after damage to the previous mirror. For the user, this means more comfortable driving after dark, better ergonomics, and visual consistency with other cockpit elements.

Product characteristics and installation

The mirror was designed specifically for Audi vehicles, which translates into a proper fit for the windshield mount and compatibility with the vehicle's electrical installation. As an item in the Rear view mirrors category, it is intended to operate in the rear part of the driver's field of vision, ensuring appropriate reflection geometry and viewing angle. The product comes from dismantling and has a used status, which allows combining original manufacturing quality with a more favorable purchase cost compared to a brand-new component. With proper installation by an experienced service center, it is possible to maintain the full functionality of systems associated with the mirror, including automatic dimming and camera operation.

Selecting the right mirror for Audi A6 / S6 C7

To select the appropriate mirror for a specific version of the Audi A6 or S6 C7, it is worth paying attention to the vehicle's equipment configuration (presence of assistance systems, interior color scheme, type of mount). The presented model is beige, which makes it particularly suitable for light upholstery and headliners, ensuring a consistent, aesthetic cabin look. Verification of compatibility with the car should include comparing the type of mirror used, the automatic dimming function, and the presence of a camera with the currently installed element. Thanks to this, the replacement will proceed smoothly, and all vehicle systems will maintain proper operation.

Equipment expansion and additional resources
