Purpose and fitment

The presented glass has been designed specifically for the rear left body section of the second-generation Toyota Rav4. Its placement in the rear door area means the component works with the factory lifting mechanism, seals, and door frame, which facilitates installation and reduces the risk of leaks. The original Toyota origin promotes the maintenance of the vehicle's consistent side line, proper adhesion to the bodywork, and stable operation within the guides. As a result, the glass does not require modifications, and the replacement process is predictable for the workshop.

Technical characteristics of the glass

The glass features the AS2 marking, which in practice indicates the appropriate level of light transmission and compliance with homologation requirements for side windows. The green tint helps limit interior heating, improves passenger visual comfort, and helps reduce glare when driving in sunny conditions. As an item from the Car windows category, the product is prepared for operation under typical service conditions – it accounts for stresses resulting from door closing, body vibrations, and temperature changes. The glass construction is adapted to the factory mounting points and the shape of the Toyota Rav4 Mk2 door frame.

Condition and practical application

The item is offered in a used condition, which in the case of original glass often allows for maintaining a very good price-to-quality ratio. This type of glass will work well both for standard post-accident repairs and for replacing a damaged or scratched component in a daily-driven car. In practice, the installation involves transferring the glass to the existing door frame and connecting it to the factory lifting mechanism. Thanks to the preservation of the original edge geometry, it is possible to properly seal it with the gaskets and maintain the correct pressure against the bodywork, which limits wind noise and the risk of leaks.

Why choose an original used glass

In the case of older models, such as the Toyota Rav4 Mk2, using a used factory component is often a reasonable alternative to cheap replacements. The original glass maintains the correct profile, thickness, and optical parameters, which translates into stable operation in the door and predictable behavior during use. If you want to better understand why choosing a used part from a reliable source is sometimes safer than installing a budget replacement for older cars, read the article: The myth of the perfect new part: why for older cars a used factory part is the only reasonable choice?.
